NORTH AMERICAN CONTINENT
CFM is reported in three communities in Canada. Groups exist in Edmonton, Alberta and London, Ontario. There are general members in Ottawa, Ontario. Canadian CFM groups traditionally use CFM/USA programming.
Three distinct ICCFM movements are active in the United States.
Their membership totals 4000 families. They are CFM/USA, MFC/USA and MFC/LA.
CFM/USA
The Christian Family Movement (CFM/USA) has a membership of 1470 families in the United States. They have a Board of directors that meets twice a year. Their Service team, composed of the movement's officers, meets annually.
Mission:
- To promote Christ-centered marriage and family life;
- To help individuals and their families to live the Christian faith in everyday life; and
- To improve society through actions of love, service, education and example.
Goals:

To develop a consciousness (both a family and a social consciousness)
based on Christian principles and examples.

To develop responsible, concerned, and happy families that are part
of a supportive and affirming network of families within every
community who will individually and collectively reach out to others in
need.

To offer opportunities for families to grow in their personal
relationships with one another as well as with their friends,
neighbors,
and co-workers.

To develop a caring society that not only recognizes, but actively
supports family life.

To initiate and encourage research that impacts the needs of families.

To continue to foster the international spirit of the Christian
Family Movement
The CFM/USA publishes a newsletter (ACT) 8 times a year.
They publish an annual inquiry program for their membership. They
maintain a web-site at www.cfm.org where detailed information is
available. They sponsor conventions every three years. Their 2005 National Convention was held in Chicago, IL July 13-15.
CFM/USA has made leadership development a long-range priority in response to the Maceio resolutions. They are updating leadership materials, seeking funding to do a leadership video, and providing leadership development at their board of director meetings.

MFC/USA
MFC/USA is composed of 2000 families. The movement is made
up of federations in several regions of the United States. Their 2005 National Convention was held in Tucson, AZ July 15-17.
The MFC/USA is a Catholic Spanish speaking movement that
invites families to evangelize other families. It promotes:

Communication and dialogue between husband and wife in order
to strengthen their marriage

Communication and dialogue among parents and their children in order to be a more united family and develop wholesome family members.

A better understanding of the environment in which families
live so that families can better adapt to that environment as well as create it and shape it.

A more profound understanding of the root causes of our community
problems as well as their Christian solutions.

The development of acceptable family life styles which are in accord
with Christian and human values.

MFC/LA
This group is made up of 500 families located in Southern
California. MFC/LA membership represents many different cultures
which share the Spanish language. They pride themselves in trying to
maintain and share their culture and customs, while living in a
totally different culture. Their children learn about the American
culture through school and daily activities. MFC/LA helps maintain
and reinforce Christian family values. They use three different texts as programming for their group meetings. They are governed by a board that meets monthly.
